LECTURES & TALKS
- May 10 (Thurs) 2012 - ‘Stone from the dung-heap; the forgotten story of quarrying
at Selsey’. Evening talk to the Selsey Society.
COURSES
- Provisional - August 25 (Sat) or October 6 (Sat) 2012 - ‘Discovering geology and
landscape on a downland estate’. Watch this space for further details. Suggested
course description reads “The Sussex Downs reveal a fascinating geological past,
from tropical seas to deep-frozen permafrost. Discover the rocks and processes that
have shaped the complex and beautiful landscape of the Sompting Estate”. Morning
will be spent indoors at the Sompting Downs Barn Environment Education Centre, the
afternoon will be spent outdoors.
