Bracklesham fossil hunt dates
Updated 2 February 2023

I no longer run public fossil hunts but will take bookings from organisations, societies, families, individuals, etc. Please email me for more information. A charge (payable in advance) will be made to cover costs, typically £45 to £50 depending on the size of the group.

I no longer reserve dates for fossil hunts, so please enquire about current available dates.

Individuals may be able to join my trips that are run by other societies (fee usually payable at the society rate). See my page on guided walks, contact the organisers or myself for further information.

All trips are late afternoon to catch better low tides and last about 2 hours. This gives more opportunity to see the fossil beds (if not buried beneath beach sand). Please allow good time to arrive, traffic and parking can be difficult, especially in the summer.

The Bracklesham car park where we start is the same location as Billy’s on the Beach cafe. Parking charges cease at 6.00pm, reduced charges apply for up to 2 hours. Trips will not normally be cancelled for bad weather.

Meet at the slipway near the cafe. The beach is always colder than you expect - dress appropriately with footwear that can get wet. Small collecting bags will be useful.
